This school bears the name of Ceferino Namuncura, settler Mapuche native of Patagonia, which love the work of Don Bosco, he gave his life serving others, sharing life with other young people in the Salesian houses for nine years to the end
of his life at the age of 19 years. His life is a message of holiness lived out in a serious commitment to reality of its people, and their message is the testimony of those who "played" and does not look "from outside." In the same spirit and in the Work of Father Juan Corti, in the year 1973 the legacy of Father Lorenzo Abate continues, consisting of four classrooms and a school library, and from this and with the help of army personnel extending the school "Ceferino Namuncura" in response to the specific need of education and containment for children of one of the first city slums. Today this school has ten classrooms, a cafeteria, a kitchen, a library and a reception room. In our facility we work to ensure that children can build a future as real men, and we believe that the life of Ceferino Namuncura represents for each of these children and young Patagonian, a model to imitate and follow.
